Sand plantain (Plantago psyllium) also named plantago afra, belongs to the psyllium family. it’s native to africa and western asia, but is also cultivated in poland. sand plantain seeds, i.e. psylli semen, dried in special conditions, are used for medicinal purposes.

Blond plantain is a plant popular in the regions of high sun exposure and humidity. Thus, it grows in Canary Islands, Spain. Blond plantain farms can be also found in India, the US or Brazil. It is mainly used in herbal medicine and cosmetics industry.

For elevated levels of cholesterol, it is advised to take 3 teaspoons mixed with 1-2 glasses of water, 2-3 times a day. Seeds are to be taken between meals, at least 1 hour before taking any other medicines.
